Lawyers for Darya Spiridonova, the owner of the Darvol jewelry house, have filed a complaint against the verdict of the Khamovniki Court in Moscow, which sentenced her to seven years in a penal colony for fraud on an especially large scale. This was reported to Izvestia in court on July 29.

According to information published on the website of the courts of general jurisdiction of the capital, a review date has not yet been set.

Spiridonova's defense had previously informed Izvestia that they did not agree with the decision of the court of first instance. The lawyers insist that the court did not take into account the presence of Spiridonova's two minor children, one of whom is disabled (with cancer). They believe that this circumstance is an unconditional reason for granting a delay in serving the sentence until the youngest child reaches the age of 14.

On July 21, the Khamovniki Court of the capital found Spiridonova guilty and sentenced her to seven years in a general regime penal colony in a case of large-scale jewelry fraud. She was also deprived of the right to engage in managerial activities in commercial organizations for three years.

According to investigators, while holding the position of CEO of Darvol, Spiridonova fraudulently received funds from citizens she knew under the pretext of selling jewelry, after which she embezzled money without fulfilling obligations.
