Rosgvardiya officers detained a man in the Pushkinsky district of St. Petersburg who tried to set fire to a bank branch with a Molotov cocktail. This was announced on July 29 in the press service of the Main Directorate (GU) of the Rosgvardiya in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region.

The Russian citizen was detained on the afternoon of July 29 at about 13:30 Moscow time. He had several Molotov cocktails with him, with which the attacker came to the branch of a financial institution.

"A man entered the bank and immediately tried to set fire to one of the molotov cocktails. The wick smoked, but did not light up, after which the room was filled with smoke. The bank's guards immediately pressed the alarm button and used a fire extinguisher," the Telegram channel says.

It is specified that the Russian Guards took the attacker to the territorial police department. The circumstances of the incident are currently being established.

Earlier that day, Russian FSB officers detained two people in Dagestan on suspicion of facilitating and participating in the activities of an international terrorist organization banned in the Russian Federation.
