Banks began actively blocking citizens' accounts due to suspicious activity. This is due to the new powers of Rosinformmonitoring, which since June can suspend any suspicious transactions, including absolutely legal ones, for example, when parents transfer money to class needs, textbooks or other school expenses. Alexey Lossan, an analyst at the financial marketplace Compare, told Izvestia about this on July 29.

"If the transfer is blocked, first of all, do not panic: the bank does not withdraw the money, but simply temporarily holds it for verification. Usually, the client receives a notification — via SMS, in the app, or by email — with the reason for the block and further instructions. It is important to read the message carefully and follow the instructions. As a rule, the bank asks you to confirm your identity or explain the purpose of the payment. Sometimes it's enough to call the hotline or answer an employee's questions so that the operation can be unblocked within a few minutes," he said.

If the bank requires documents, you should prepare a confirmation of the purpose of the transfer in advance: correspondence with the parent committee, screenshots of discussions, receipts or receipts, if any. If there are no documents, you can explain the situation in words, the main thing is to be honest and consistent. Do not ignore the bank's requests: if you do not respond on time, the check may take a long time.

It is necessary to specify the purpose of the payment: "gift", "help", "repayment of debt", added Fyodor Sidorov, a private investor and founder of the School of Practical Investment. This does not formally guarantee protection from blocking, but it gives the bank and the monitoring service reasons not to classify the operation as risky.

"If you are engaged in activities related to income, sales, training, consulting, it needs to be formalized. Working in the white in 2025 is no longer a matter of choice, but a way to protect yourself from unnecessary problems. Even one—time transfers for a service without registration of an individual entrepreneur or self-employment can be regarded as entrepreneurial activity with an attempt to avoid taxes," he said.

Earlier that day, it became known that MTS Money, VTB and Gazprombank customers were faced with prolonged blocking of funds on bank cards. It was clarified that the funds of some clients were frozen for up to six months, in some cases the money was unavailable for one and a half to three months.
