- The Russian government has established requirements for charging stations at gas stations
Starting from March 1, 2026, it should be possible to use DC charging stations with a capacity of at least 44 kW for electric vehicles at gas stations in the right-of-way lanes. The Russian government published a corresponding decree on July 29.
Charging stations with this capacity are included in the list of minimum necessary services provided at road service facilities. It was approved in 2020 and has not yet regulated the minimum required charging capacity requirements for electric vehicles.
At the same time, existing gas stations with charging stations will not have to be rebuilt. The document states that the new requirements do not apply to capital construction projects, the design documentation of which was prepared on the basis of the urban development plan of the land or documentation on the planning of the territory, issued or approved before the entry into force of this resolution..
"The requirements provided for by the amendment introduced by this resolution are applied if there is a technological connection of a gas station to the electric grid," the resolution also notes.
Earlier, on July 23, all charging stations of the Moscow Energy project became chargeable. An average market tariff was introduced for them. The pilot project at city stations has been in operation for almost five years, during which time users have completed more than 1 million free charging sessions. At direct current stations (starting from 50 kW), a tariff of 20 rubles per 1 kWh began to operate, and at alternating current stations (22-44 kW) — 15 rubles per 1 kWh.
