The UAV that crashed in Minsk was equipped with TNT and damaging elements
The Investigative Committee of Belarus is investigating a criminal case into the crash of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) in Minsk. It is specified that the UAV was equipped with TNT and a large number of damaging elements. This was reported on July 29 in the Telegram channel of the department.
"It was previously established that on the night of July 29, an unmanned aerial vehicle, which was detected by the Ministry of Defense [of Belarus] and suppressed by electronic warfare, fell without detonation in the courtyard of house No. 72 on Matusevich Street," the report says.
The wreckage of the drone caused damage to several parked vehicles. They landed on the territory adjacent to the house. As a result of the incident, no one was injured. In addition, residents were not evacuated.
"The investigator, with the involvement of specialists from the State Committee for Forensic Examinations and sappers, conducted an inspection, recorded a trace pattern, and seized fragments of the UAV's hull and wings, an engine, a navigation device, and a warhead equipped with TNT and a large number of damaging elements in the form of megalithic balls," said Sergei Kabakovich, an official representative of the Investigative Committee of Belarus.
In addition, inscriptions in Ukrainian were found on the wreckage of the drone. On the video posted on the Telegram channel of the department, you can also see: "Made in Germany" in English.
According to him, at the moment, law enforcement agencies are establishing all the circumstances of the incident. Kabakovich also noted that the public will be informed about the progress of the investigation additionally.
Earlier in the day, it was reported that an unidentified drone had been neutralized on Matusevich Street in Minsk. The air defense forces on duty discovered and destroyed the UAV. After the use of electronic warfare (EW), the drone crashed.
