Shor declared disrespect for the Constitution by the Moldovan authorities
The Moldovan authorities do not respect the Constitution, but are afraid of it, knowing that if they follow the law, they have no place in the country's leadership. This was announced on Tuesday, July 28, by the leader of the opposition bloc "Victory" Ilan Shor.
According to the politician, the basic law adopted 31 years ago proclaimed the equality of citizens and democracy, but today "everything is destroyed, trampled, burned out by the policy of the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS)." He stressed that the current government "does not respect the Constitution and is afraid of it, because they know that if they follow the law, they have no place in power."
Shor also accused the ruling party of undermining the principle of separation of powers. According to him, the PAS puts pressure on the courts, turns parliament "into a circus" and the elections "into a play according to its script."
"The Constitution is not the property of Racist puppets or Brussels puppeteers. This is a guarantee to people that their rights and freedoms will be respected," the opposition leader said in his Telegram channel.
He expressed confidence that the people of Moldova will live by their own laws, and not "look at the lawlessness of power under the guise of European integration."
On July 26, supporters of the parties of Socialists, Communists, "The Heart of Moldova" and "The Future of Moldova" came out to protest against the rule of Moldovan President Maia Sandu in Chisinau. Chairman of the Party of Socialists, former President of Moldova Igor Dodon noted that more than 10 thousand people took to the streets of Chisinau.
On July 19, the Central Election Commission of Moldova did not allow the Victory bloc to participate in the parliamentary elections. The decision was made by a majority vote during the meeting. The reason for the refusal was allegedly violations in the document flow, as well as non-compliance with the requirements of the electoral legislation.
The press service of the Pobeda bloc announced plans to apply for registration for the elections on July 13. It was clarified that the faction intends to seek the restoration of ties with the Russian Federation and the development of cooperation with the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), as this "meets the interests of Moldova and reflects the choice of the majority of citizens."
