Due to heavy rains in Beijing, a total of 80,000 people have been evacuated to date. This was reported by the Ming Pao newspaper on July 29.

"To date, a total of 80,000 people have been evacuated throughout the city, with the largest number of evacuees in Miyong, Huaizhou and Fangshan," the material says.

It is specified that 16 thousand people were evacuated from the Miyun district, about 10 thousand from the Huairou district and more than 9 thousand from the Fangshan district.

Search and rescue operations, evacuation of the population, as well as restoration of infrastructure and roadways are continuing in the affected areas, the newspaper noted.

The Chinese newspaper Science and Technology Daily reported on July 29 that at least 30 people died as a result of heavy rains in Beijing. It is specified that due to the influx of warm and humid air, severe thunderstorms and heavy rains were observed in the Miyun area and other parts of Beijing.
