The investigation of the case of large-scale bribery of an ex-deputy has been completed in the Irkutsk region.

The investigation of the criminal case against the former deputy of the Duma of Bratsk, Irkutsk region, who is accused of receiving large-scale commercial bribery, has been completed. This was reported on July 29 in the regional investigative department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.

"The second department for the investigation of particularly important cases of the SU IC of Russia in the Irkutsk region has completed the investigation of the criminal case against the former Duma deputy of the city of Bratsk. He is accused of committing a crime under Part 8 of Article 204 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Commercial bribery committed on an especially large scale")," the agency said in a statement.

So, according to the investigation, the accused, who in the period from 2017 to 2022 was the head of the foundry directorate of the plant, received from entrepreneurs more than 16 million rubles, which were credited to the account of one of the founders of the supplier company. It is specified that these funds were deposited to ensure the priority and unhindered supply of raw materials for aluminum production to the plant. In addition, bribery implied the approval of reports of the pilot production protocols of the commission for the certification of products of this organization, as well as the non-admission of alternative companies to supply.

According to the department, the criminal case and the collected evidence were sent to the court for detailed consideration.

On July 27, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in St. Petersburg announced the detention of Oleg Milyuta, a deputy of the legislative assembly of the city, in a bribery case. He, as noted, together with the head of the Kolpino district administration, Yulia Logvinenko, and the head of the local administration of the Kolpino municipality, Dmitry Kohno, received bribes from the director of a commercial organization that was engaged in the improvement of the Kolpino district from December 2024 to June 2025. The department clarified that in total, the defendants in this case received at least 14.2 million rubles in the designated time.
