Minimum expenses for preparing for school in 2025 have been named

The cost of the minimum set for school preparation this year amounted to 16.2 thousand rubles, which is 7% higher than last year, the analytical center "Check Index" of the company "Platform OFD" told Izvestia.

A school uniform, a backpack, a shirt, shoes, sneakers, a T-shirt, a diary, a set of notebooks, and a pencil case were taken into account as a conditional minimum set for school.

A backpack was the most expensive — they spent over 4 thousand rubles on it, 3.1 thousand rubles on a school uniform, and additional trousers or a skirt cost almost 1 thousand rubles. The number of purchases of school supplies in June–July was 9% lower than last year's level. However, the demand for backpacks and office supplies was higher.

"There is a cohort of buyers who purchase such goods in advance, in particular office supplies, the cost of which has increased more noticeably than in other product groups. General statistics show that parents do not save money when preparing for school," the analysts noted.

More than 60% of the school segment's sales came from online channels, they added.
