An earthquake of magnitude 6.5 occurred off the coast of the Nicobar Islands. This was announced on July 28 on the website of the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC).
It is specified that the natural disaster was recorded at a depth of 10 km.
According to the organization, the earthquake occurred 282 km northwest of the Indonesian city of Banda Aceh with a population of about 250 thousand people.
