Pavel Durov, the founder of the Telegram messenger, was repeatedly summoned for questioning in a Paris court. This was reported by the AFP news agency on July 28.

"Durov was summoned for the third interrogation since he was charged in August 2024 for a number of crimes related to organized crime," TV5 Monde quoted AFP as saying.

It is specified that the founder of Telegram arrived at the court accompanied by four lawyers. Durov declined to comment.

On June 9, the founder of the messenger, during an interview with American journalist Tucker Carlson, called his imprisonment in France a mistake. According to the entrepreneur, he was aware that the French authorities were concerned about Telegram's "alleged lack of response to court requests." However, as he later realized, this was not the case, because the messenger had never received legally binding requests from Paris.

In August 2024, Durov was detained at Le Bourget airport in Paris. He was charged with a number of crimes, including drug distribution, crimes against children, money laundering and fraud. At the same time, he was released from custody on his own recognizance and bail in the amount of € 5 million. During the investigation, the court seized his passports and ordered him to live in Paris at a specific address.
