Sobyanin opened the House of Russian Billiards at the Svoboda Factory club
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin opened the Rodina House of Russian Billiards in the historical club of the Svoboda factory. This is the second modern billiard court in the city, the head of the capital noted in his Telegram channel.
"Over the past two years alone, billiards has become one of the most sought—after areas, and the average club workload in the evening exceeds 90%," Sobyanin said. He added that in Moscow, four times more people are engaged in this sport now than in 2010.
The space is designed for about 500 visitors per day. The club has 21 billiards tables, a comfortable relaxation area, an innovative digital complex and a family children's center.
The building of the Svoboda Factory club on the street Vyatka was built in the 1920s by Konstantin Melnikov and is an object of cultural heritage. During the restoration, specialists carefully restored the original facades, windows, stairs and interior elements, the mayor of the capital emphasized.
The first such venue, the Moskvich Billiard Sports Palace, was opened in Moscow in 2023. The plans include the construction of a billiard arena in the Mnevnikovskaya floodplain.
