Belarus announced the deepening of localization of the Belgee X50 crossover

In the two years since the start of production of the Belgee X50 crossover, the Belarusian Belgee automobile plant has produced 79 thousand copies of the model. The list of localized X50 components will be expanded, the company said in a statement received by Izvestia on July 28.

Currently, the production of such Belgee X50 automotive components as batteries, front fender sound insulation elements, glass, luggage compartment organizer, standard emergency call device, front and rear bumpers, rims and tires has been localized.

The company noted that in June, the plant began a large-scale modernization of a number of production sites. The changes affect the welding and body painting workshops. They are aimed at a significant increase in production capacity to meet the growing demand, as well as the introduction of modern technologies to improve the efficiency and environmental friendliness of production, representatives of Belgee said.

Now the Belgee X50 is one of the leaders of the B-SUV segment in Russia, the crossover is actively used in corporate fleets, among which taxis and carsharing stand out.

Earlier, on June 1, it was reported that Anton Alikhanov, the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, supported the extension of taxi localization requirements to carsharing vehicles. According to Alikhanov, the Ministry of Industry and Trade intends to act to ensure the rapid adoption of this law. On May 23, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law on the localization of taxi cars, which comes into force on March 1, 2026.
