A 15-year-old Russian man died in Abkhazia after falling into a cliff.

A 15-year-old Russian citizen was killed after falling off a cliff in the village of Markhyaul in the Gulrypshi region of Abkhazia. This was reported on July 28 in the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic.

"Tikhon Andreevich Kotyashov, a resident of Murmansk, fell off a cliff and died," the ministry said in a statement on Facebook (owned by Meta, a company whose activities are recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).

The Ministry of Emergency Situations recalled the importance of meeting safety requirements when traveling to the mountains.

The press service of the Baikal Search and Rescue Squad (BPSO) On July 9, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation reported the death of a man after he fell off the Skriper cliff on a section of the Bolshaya Baikal Trail. Due to the difficult terrain, rescuers were able to descend to the deceased with the help of climbing equipment. Subsequently, the man's body was lowered to the boat and transported to the BPSO base.
