Matvienko invited foreign colleagues to the Alley of Angels in Donetsk
Foreign representatives should visit Donbass themselves to see with their own eyes the consequences of the actions of the Ukrainian Nazis in the region, as well as the Alley of Angels in Donetsk, where the dead children are buried. This was stated on July 28 by Chairman of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko in Geneva at the XV Summit of Women Chairmen of Parliaments.
"For eight years, the Kiev regime has been shelling peaceful regions of Donbass and Novorossiya, killing women, children and the elderly. 14 thousand . [people] were killed during that time. Please come to Donbass and take a look at the Alley of Angels, which is dedicated to the memory of these murdered children," Matvienko said.
She recalled that after the events of 2014, people came to power in Ukraine who banned the Russian language and began shelling peaceful areas of Donbass. Since then, Russia has begun to seek a settlement of the conflict through diplomacy within the framework of the Minsk agreements, but Kiev ignored this proposal and continued to use force.
Matvienko noted that the brutal actions of the Kiev authorities forced Moscow to intervene in order to stop the killing of civilians. The Chairman of the Federation Council called for relying on facts during the international dialogue, rather than blindly reproducing fictional rhetoric announced by someone as part of the information war.
On July 27, the Alley of Angels hosted a Memorial Day for children who became victims of the conflict in Donbass. A flower-laying ceremony was held there. In Moscow, in the Hall of Memory and Sorrow of the Victory Museum, an action was also held-a requiem for the Day of Remembrance of Children who became victims of the conflict.
