- The first session of the St. Petersburg House of Music Summer Academy is taking place in Yalta.
The first session of the summer Academy of the St. Petersburg House of Music is coming to an end in Yalta. The project participants study under the guidance of leading Russian teachers, perform concerts and prepare for international competitions. On July 29, the young musicians told Izvestia about the project.
"All the conditions have been created here so that we don't get distracted by any everyday chores at all and focus entirely on music," said Timofey Vladimirov, a participant in the project.
Young musicians strengthen their skills by working with well-known mentors.
"Talented guys have been selected here, who will start winning and bringing international competitions to our country's piggy bank starting in the fall," said Sergey Roldugin, People's Artist of Russia, artistic Director of the St. Petersburg House of Music.
For example, already in September, one of the participants, Vazgen Yusupov, will go to the largest music competition in Munich. He shared that he did not know what the total number of applications was, but about two people from Russia had entered the competition, one of whom was himself.
Another participant, Polina Thai, said that it is difficult to perform Prokofiev's concert due to its technical saturation. According to her, the piece sounds good when it is played by boys, but for girls it is quite difficult, because there is not enough physiology and power.
At the concert, the young musicians coped with their task almost perfectly. One of the key events was the traditional open-air program on the territory of the Vorontsov Palace.
Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, soloist of the St. Petersburg House of Music Miroslav Kultyshev noted the great role of this musical institution on the Russian stage. He said that he had also been there as a student, and had been able to meet with several prominent musicians and mentors.
The Summer Academy consists of three sessions. Master classes on cello were conducted by Sergey Roldugin. The program pays special attention to stage practice — concerts are held in Nizhny Oreanda, Vorontsov Palace and other Crimean venues.
The second session of the summer academy starts this week. Classes will be held in piano, violin and harp classes.
Earlier, on July 12, a concert of symphonic music by Russian classics "Stars of the Ancient Kurzala" was held at the A.N. Scriabin Concert Hall of the North Caucasian Philharmonic in Kislovodsk. The event took place within the framework of the All-Russian Academic Music Festival named after Safonova — "130th anniversary of the Philharmonic", dedicated to the anniversary of the oldest philharmonic in Russia. The program featured hits of Russian symphonic music.
