Lawyer Polozov's indictment in the case of fakes about the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation was approved

The Gagarin interdistrict Prosecutor's Office in Moscow has approved the indictment of lawyer Nikolai Polozov (recognized in Russia as a foreign agent) in a criminal case related to the spread of fakes about the Russian Armed Forces (RF Armed Forces). This was reported on July 28 in the Telegram channel of the department.

"The Gagarin interdistrict Prosecutor's Office has approved a criminal indictment against Nikolai Polozov, a lawyer at one of the law chambers. <...> He is charged under clause "d" of Part 2 of Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Public dissemination of knowingly false information about the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation")," the report says.

It is clarified that in April 2022, the accused posted a publication in one of the messengers with false information about the actions of the Russian Armed Forces in the framework of a special military operation (SVO). At the same time, the post was available for viewing by an unlimited number of users.

In addition, Polozov took part in an interview on one of the video hosting sites, which contained false information about the actions of the Russian Armed Forces. This was confirmed by experts.

The criminal case of the accused was sent to the Gagarin District Court for consideration on the merits. In respect of the lawyer, a preventive measure in the form of detention was chosen in absentia. Polozov was put on the international wanted list.

On May 26, the Khoroshevsky District Court of Moscow sentenced actor Andrei Khabarov in absentia to nine years in a penal colony in a case of spreading false information about the actions of the Russian Armed Forces. It is specified that the term of serving the sentence will be counted from the moment of the artist's extradition to the territory of the Russian Federation or from the moment of his detention in Russia.
