The court sentenced Veronika Naumova to 24 years in prison in the case of the torture and murder of a six-year-old child in custody. This was announced on July 28 by the press service of the courts of the Sverdlovsk region.

It was established that in June 2023, Naumova was the guardian of five-year-old Daler Bobiev, and she also reported him missing. The boy's remains were found in the garage next to the defendant's house. The examination showed that the child had died a violent death several months before the wanted list was announced. She pleaded not guilty.

"According to the totality of the crimes, by partially adding up the punishments, the court sentenced Veronika Naumova to 24 years in prison, followed by two years of imprisonment," the Telegram channel says.

According to the investigation, the nephew of the accused, Daniil Egolnikov, participated in the crimes. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to five years in prison in a penal colony.

The court also granted the claim of the father of the deceased child to Naumova — she must pay compensation in the amount of 1 million rubles. The verdict has not entered into legal force, the press service added.

The child's body was found in a bag on the territory of a garage complex in the Chkalovsky district of Yekaterinburg on June 29, 2023. They searched for the boy for three days. Naumova was detained on June 29, and the next day she was charged with murder, torture and fraud in receiving payments.

Later, on August 26, 2024, it became known that Naumova had been using violence against the child under her care for three years and had involved two young girls and her underage nephew in this crime.
