Members of the United Nations (UN) can still discuss with each other on their site - this work has not stopped. Tatiana Valovaya, director of the organization's office in Geneva, told Izvestia about this on July 28 on the sidelines of the 15th Summit of Women Presidents of Parliaments.

"I believe that Geneva, like the United Nations as a whole, remains precisely the platform where all Member countries participate, where dialogue and discussion are taking place. And all these years, a large number of events have been held on our site, where all member countries participated," she stressed.

Speaker of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko will also take part in the summit on the theme "Leading role in ensuring comprehensive and lasting peace."

On June 24, Deputy Secretary of the Russian Security Council Alexander Venediktov said that the UN needs to adapt to new realities, as well as carry out targeted transformations. According to him, Russia and other SCO member states link the future of the multipolar world with the coordinating role of the United Nations.
