Aeroflot cancelled 42 flights from Moscow due to a glitch in information systems
Aeroflot has cancelled 42 flights departing from Moscow due to a malfunction in its information systems. This was reported on Monday, July 28, in the carrier's Telegram channel.
Among the cancelled flights are destinations to Yekaterinburg, Kaliningrad, Mineralnye Vody, St. Petersburg, Sochi, Kazan, Chelyabinsk and other cities. Passengers are asked to monitor the information on the Sheremetyevo Airport's online scoreboard.
The company noted that cancelled flights are subject to refund or reissue for dates within 10 days. Passengers can also pick up their previously checked baggage at the pick-up hall. Temporarily, ticket offices at the airport do not make refunds or reissue tickets.
The Moscow Prosecutor's Office for the Supervision of the Enforcement of Laws on air and Water Transport reported that the situation at Sheremetyevo airport, related to the malfunction of Aeroflot, is under control.
"The Moscow Prosecutor's Office for Supervision of the Enforcement of Laws on Air and Water Transport has organized supervisory measures in connection with a malfunction in the information systems and services of PJSC Aeroflot," the agency's Telegram channel said.
On the same day, it was reported that Aeroflot's information systems had malfunctioned. Passengers were asked to monitor information on airport websites and information boards, as well as announcements on speakerphone. The company assured that the specialists are working to minimize the risks to the flight production plan and to restore the regular operation of the services.
