China and the United States will extend the tariff pause at the talks in Sweden for another 90 days. This was reported on July 28 by the South China Morning Post (SCMP) agency, citing sources.

"Beijing and Washington are expected to extend the tariff truce for another three months at the Stockholm trade talks," the publication said.

As the agency noted, despite the extension of the pause, progress in the search for compromises is not expected.

On July 22, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced that the United States would try to negotiate with China on extending the duty relief period. Washington and Beijing will hold a meeting in Stockholm on July 28 and 29, where the parties will work on a possible extension of the deal.

At the same time, on July 21, Washington threatened China with the imposition of duties in the amount of 100% for the purchase of Russian oil.
