Aviation services reported that a Russian passenger liner sent a distress signal over the Buzachi Peninsula in Kazakhstan over the Caspian Sea.

"An Embraer 190 aircraft during a flight from Izhevsk to Makhachkala sounded an alarm over the Caspian Sea," the Interfax news agency reported.
