A criminal case has been opened in Yakutsk on the death of an eight-year-old child under the article on causing death by negligence. This was reported in the Telegram channel of the Investigative Department (SU) of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) on Monday, July 28.
"According to the materials of the criminal case, on July 27, 2025, an eight-year—old boy touched an aluminum wire under electrical voltage and hanging from an overhead power line on a piece of land near the house number 3 on Shirokikh-Polyansky Street," the report said.
The criminal case was initiated under Part 2 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (causing death by negligence due to improper performance of professional duties by a person).
Currently, investigators are examining the scene, the causes and circumstances of the incident are being established.
Earlier, on July 27, the press service of the Main Investigative Department (GSU) of the Investigative Committee of Russia in St. Petersburg reported the discovery of the bodies of the spouses and their acquaintance in an apartment on Shturmanskaya Street. It was clarified that the cause of their death would be determined during a forensic medical examination. It was noted that during the investigation, the investigators conducted an inspection of the scene.
