- The director of the film "One whole" spoke about the influence of Plato on the script of the picture
While working on the script of the horror film "One Whole", which is being released in Russia this week, director Michael Shanks was inspired by the dialogue "Feast" by the ancient philosopher Plato. He told Izvestia about this on April 28 during an interview.
"[The film's scripts arose] from Plato's dialogue "The Feast," of course. I had to somehow introduce the idea of androgyny, and the character had to somehow present this idea to another character so that he perceived what was happening from a philosophical perspective," said Shanks.
The director added that he did not know about this work before working on the film and "just Googled some myths" and philosophical concepts on a topic of interest to him.
"And in the end I came across the "Feast", I was delighted. It's like this dialogue was written for my movie! I was also struck by how differently people tried to portray what Plato described," he added.
