Rumors about the blocking of WhatsApp messenger (owned by Meta Corporation, which is recognized as extremist and banned in Russia) are untenable. This was stated by the head of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Sergei Boyarsky, in his Telegram channel on Sunday, July 27.

"It's Sunday again, a ringing phone and questions about WhatsApp... Colleagues, with all due respect, I cannot afford to comment on rumors and questionable stuffing from untenable sources," the message says.
