A teenager died as a result of a hit-and-run in the Leningrad region

In the Luga district of the Leningrad region, a 13-year-old teenager died as a result of a hit-and-run. This was announced on July 27 by the main directorate (GU) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the region in its Telegram channel.

"Today <...> a 69-year-old driver, driving a Kia Rio car, hit a 13-year-old teenager who was driving along the side of the road for an unknown reason. As a result of the accident, the child died at the scene," the message says.

As noted by the agency, an inspection has begun on the fact of the accident.

Earlier, on July 5, an accident in the Irkutsk region killed one person and injured two others. It is clarified that, according to preliminary information, the driver of a Toyota Carina car drove into the oncoming lane, resulting in a collision with a Kia Rio. The Toyota driver, who did not have a license to drive a vehicle, died on the spot, his passenger and the Kia driver needed medical attention.
