The commander of the assault group, Lieutenant Maxim Sibirko, destroyed a mortar crew and a warehouse with ammunition of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) from an RPO-A rocket-propelled infantry flamethrower. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported on the exploits of servicemen of the Armed Forces of Russia in the zone of a special military operation on Monday, July 28.

After successfully inflicting fire damage, Sibirko saw confusion in the surviving enemy ranks. Using the moment, he made his way to an unattended Ukrainian armored car and drove the vehicle away, thus depriving enemy forces of the opportunity to redeploy.

During further assault operations, the Russian fighters were able to successfully complete the task of advancing and gained a foothold in a new location. It also allowed to improve the position of the Russian army on the line of combat contact.

For his courage and bravery, Sibirko was awarded the Order of Courage.

In addition, the commander of the artillery gun of the Guard, Senior Sergeant Khushbakht Panzhiev, provided support to the motorized rifle units of the Russian Armed Forces leading the offensive in one of the tactical areas of the SVO zone. Thanks to the rapid actions of his crew, two mortars, military equipment and personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were destroyed. Several enemy firing points were also suppressed.

The servicemen continued to carry out the task, despite intense attacks by Ukrainian artillery and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

The successful execution of the operation made it possible to stop the advance of the armored group and motorized infantry of the Ukrainian units, as well as to prevent the breakthrough of the defense line in an important area of the SVR zone.

Earlier, on July 26, Guard Ensign Anatoly Chernyak repaired a rocket launcher under enemy artillery fire. After that, the combat vehicle was able to resume further firing at targets.
