Navy Day is important not only for the Russian Army, but for the whole country. This was announced on July 27 by Russian President Vladimir Putin during the congratulations of the sailors.

"The holiday is, of course, beautiful, very necessary and important for the country — not only for the navy, but for the country as a whole: I mean the role and importance that the Armed Forces in general and its naval component in particular have and play," he said.
