President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky could offer to hold talks with Russia because of the influence of the United States. This was announced on July 27 by military analyst Alexander Merkuris on the YouTube channel The Duran.

"My guess is this: the administration of [US President Donald] Trump told him that he cannot abandon these negotiations, that he must continue them, the American president wants this and hopes for some kind of breakthrough," he said.
