The Russian Navy has completed the July Storm operational exercises, which took place from July 23 to July 27. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

The forces of the Northern, Pacific, Baltic Fleets and the Caspian Flotilla took part in the maneuvers. Admiral Alexander Moiseev, Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy, led the exercises.

According to the Ministry of Defense, about 550 combat exercises were performed, of which more than 450 involved the practical use of weapons. Over 150 ships and support vessels, 120 aircraft, 10 coastal missile systems, 950 units of military equipment and more than 15,000 military personnel were involved in the maneuvers.

On the final day of the large-scale maneuvers, the Admiral Golovko frigate, the Orel nuclear submarine and the Bastion coastal missile system launched Kalibr, Granit and Onyx cruise missiles at a group naval target in the Barents Sea.

The ministry said that the key task of the exercises was to check the readiness for the integrated use of high-precision long-range weapons, unmanned systems and modern weapons. As a result of the exercises, the coherence of the crews, the level of training and the ability of the fleets to solve complex operational tasks in modern conditions were tested.

Earlier in the day, Russian President Vladimir Putin, in a video message to the participants of the operational exercises, noted that the July Storm exercises were aimed at checking the combat readiness of the Russian fleet. According to him, Russia will continue to increase the level of combat training of crews, surface and submarine ships, coastal and aviation units, equipping them with the most modern equipment and weapons.
