New military engineering college to open in Nizhny Novgorod region

The Government of the Russian Federation has approved an order on the establishment of a new military engineering school in the Nizhny Novgorod region. The relevant information was published on the government's website on July 27.

"To create a federal state-owned military educational institution of higher education, the Nizhny Novgorod Higher Military Engineering Command School of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation (hereinafter referred to as the government institution)," the document says.

It is specified that the educational institution will be located on the basis of the 210th regional training center of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. According to the press service, the school will help increase the training and graduation of highly qualified military engineers who will be able to study taking into account the experience of conducting a special military operation.

It is noted that all organizational measures related to the construction of the educational institution are planned to be completed by September 1 this year.

It is planned to open 15 new schools in 10 years to train more pilot officers, medics, and specialists in unmanned systems.

On June 10, it was reported that the Russian Defense Ministry was discussing an initiative to create the country's first Higher Military School for Unmanned Systems in the Moscow Region. It is planned that the university will accept the first cadets on September 1, 2027. He will be releasing officers for a new branch of the military.
