The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has announced that it has resumed air drops of humanitarian aid to residents of the Gaza Strip in order to refute rumors by the Palestinian Hamas movement about famine among residents. The IDF announced this on July 26 in its Telegram channel.

"The Israel Defense Forces has launched a number of activities aimed at improving humanitarian assistance in the Gaza Strip and refuting the false claim of deliberate famine in the Gaza Strip. Today <...> resumed air drops of humanitarian aid <...> to Gaza," the statement said.

The IDF noted that seven pallets of flour, sugar and canned goods will be delivered to Gaza. Israel also clarified that in addition to the air transfer of humanitarian aid, corridors will be organized for the safe movement of UN convoys with cargo and medicines.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that 20 people were killed and 100 injured while transporting humanitarian aid to Gaza due to an IDF attack. It is noted that the strike was carried out on people who were waiting to receive humanitarian aid near the Zikkim checkpoint.

On July 25, it was noted that, according to Israel, there is no hunger in the Gaza Strip, but there is a problem of food insecurity. Despite this, Israel, according to JP, is trying to convince the UN to send 900 trucks with humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.
