The European Union (EU) intends to change the standards for carrying liquids in hand luggage, allowing passengers to carry up to two liters on flights. This was reported on July 26 by Euronews TV channel with reference to the European Commission (EC).

It is noted that as part of this initiative, passengers will not need to transport liquids in containers that are limited to 100 ml.

"Airport screening equipment capable of scanning the contents of large containers of liquids may soon be introduced throughout the EU. This will allow passengers to no longer limit themselves to vials of up to 100 ml when flying," the article says.

At the same time, the previously imposed restrictions on the volume of transported liquids were explained by the fact that detection systems such as X-ray scanners are not able to effectively detect liquid explosives. To meet these challenges, EU airports will be equipped with the latest generation of scanning equipment.

It is noted that the latest screening equipment has already been installed at a number of European airports, including Rome and Milan.Газета.Ru ".

On July 14, the Russian airline Aeroflot allowed passengers to transport two pet containers in the cabin. According to the rules, the weight of the carrier under the seat should not exceed 8 kg, for the container on the next seat — no more than 15 kg.
