The rescuer told about the search for a family who died under the rubble of a house in Saratov.

An entire family died due to a gas explosion and collapse in an apartment building in Saratov. This was announced on Saturday, July 26, by Alexey Sergeev, head of the specialized fire and rescue unit of the regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, at the scene of the incident.

According to the rescuer, when he found the body of the deceased child, it seemed to him at first that he was breathing.

"We wrapped him [the child] in a blanket, took him to a safe place <...> and put him on a bench. My paramedic looked at me with a sad look and said that he was not alive," said Sergeev, who discovered the body of a four—year-old child next to the deceased man.

It turned out later that they were father and son. During further analysis of the structures, the boy's mother was also found.

According to Sergeev, during the ascent of the ladder to the eighth floor, rescuers also heard the screams of a man trapped under the rubble. The operation to save him lasted about five hours, however, despite the efforts of specialists, he died from his injuries.

As a result of the tragedy, three people died.

The explosion in a multi-storey building in Saratov occurred on July 25. Searches for missing people are continuing at the site of the explosion. At least seven victims have been found so far. A criminal case has been opened into the incident regarding the provision of services that do not meet safety requirements.

A regional state of emergency has been declared in the Saratov Region. July 26 has been declared a day of mourning in connection with the incident.

The governor of the region, Roman Busargin, announced on the same day that the rubble in a multi-storey building in Saratov, which was formed as a result of a gas explosion in the building, had been dismantled by 60-70%. He clarified that the debris is being transported to a special landfill.
