Germany has already transferred three Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems to Ukraine and is negotiating new supplies. This was reported by The Washington Post on July 26, citing unnamed officials.

"Berlin has already transferred three [Patriot] systems to Ukraine and is negotiating with Washington to send more and get a replacement," the article says.

According to WP, the American initiative to supply weapons to Ukraine at the expense of European countries may also include the transfer of radar systems, electronic warfare systems, UAV interceptors and artillery.

On July 19, The Wall Street Journal reported on the US decision to reorient supplies of Patriot air defense systems to its allies so that they reach Ukraine faster. It was noted that this step highlights the difficulties in supplying Kiev with American air defense systems, as well as other Western weapons, since defense production lines are having a hard time coping with the requests of the Ukrainian authorities.

Earlier, on July 14, US President Donald Trump said that the United States and the European Union had reached an agreement on the supply of weapons to Ukraine. According to him, the United States will produce weapons for Ukraine, and European countries will pay for them.
