Mass protests have taken place in Scotland against the visit of US President Donald Trump to the country. This was announced on July 26 by the STV TV channel.

Trump arrived in Scotland on the evening of July 25th. Upon arrival, he headed to the Trump Turnberry Hotel, which he had bought in 2014. On the morning of July 26, Trump was spotted on the golf course.

"Protests against President Trump, who was spotted playing golf at the start of a private visit to Scotland, continue across the country," the publication says.

It is noted that hundreds of protesting people gathered in Edinburgh and Aberdeen. Local police also blocked roads for residents and media representatives.

At the same time, many people stood with banners that read "No to Trump" and "Trump is not welcome here."

Earlier, on June 29, it was reported about Trump's plans to visit three of his golf courses in Scotland. This is Trump's first visit since his second inauguration. The trip is connected with the intention of the American leader to meet informally with King Charles III of Great Britain.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
