Thousands of people protested against Sandu's rule in Chisinau

Chairman of the Party of Socialists, former President of Moldova Igor Dodon noted that more than 10 thousand people took to the streets of Chisinau. He also expressed confidence that the electoral bloc, which includes four opposition parties, will be able to win the parliamentary elections.

"As for the polling stations in the Russian Federation. Only two sites have been opened. This is wrong. It was necessary to open at least 70-80. <...> But the current government is afraid of the voices of our citizens who live in Russia," Dodon added.

The Moldovan Diaspora of Russia on Wednesday, July 23, handed over to the Moldovan Embassy in Moscow a petition asking to open more polling stations. On the same day, Alexey Lungu, the leader of the opposition Chance party, was detained in Moldova. He took part in a protest against government pressure on the Victory bloc.

On July 19, the Central Election Commission of Moldova did not allow the Victory bloc to participate in the parliamentary elections. The decision was made by a majority vote during the meeting. The reason for the refusal was allegedly violations in the document flow, as well as non-compliance with the requirements of the electoral legislation.
