An earthquake of magnitude 5.7 occurred near the northern coast of Papua New Guinea. This was announced on July 26 on the website of the European Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC).
It is specified that the epicenter of the tremors was located 522 km northeast of the Indonesian city of Ambon. About 355,000 people live there.
According to the organization, the earthquake was located at a depth of 10 km.
