US President Donald Trump is open to working with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un to achieve the "complete denuclearization" of the republic. This was reported on July 26 by the Yonhap News agency, citing a White House official.

"Trump remains open to working with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un to achieve the 'complete denuclearization' of [the DPRK]," the publication says.

According to the publication, expectations remain in the administration of the President of the United States regarding attempts to resume personal diplomacy with Kim Jong—un after three face-to-face meetings between the leaders of the states - one in 2018 and two in 2019.

In March, Trump said that he might make contact with the leader of the DPRK, and praised the relationship with him. Later, the Axios portal reported that the US presidential administration is discussing possible options for resuming dialogue with the DPRK.
