President of Turkmenistan Berdimuhamedov pardoned 247 people during a cabinet meeting
President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, one of the decisions of which was to pardon 247 people in honor of the International Year of Peace and Trust. This was reported by Arzuw.news agency on July 26.
"President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers in digital format, having considered a wide range of issues of public administration. <...> The key decision was the signing of a decree pardoning 247 citizens on the occasion of the International Year of Peace and Trust," the agency noted.
It is specified that the meeting also discussed the preparation of new bills and events for the upcoming 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality, issues of the gas industry and agriculture, as well as the country's cooperation with UNESCO.
"The President signed a decree on approving the procedure for state registration of movable values of the national Historical and cultural Heritage,— Arzuw.news added.
Earlier, on July 2, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko pardoned 16 people who were convicted of various crimes, including extremist ones. It clarifies that all the convicts repented of their crimes and pledged not to violate the country's Constitution.
