The Russian Navy conducted the July Storm operational exercises in the Barents Sea. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation on Saturday, July 26, showed footage of the work of Russian ships and naval aviation.

The ship's search and strike group of the Northern Fleet has completed the destruction of a simulated enemy submarine. In addition to anti-submarine ships and submarines, Il-38 anti-submarine aircraft and Ka-27 helicopters also took part in the search for the target. The detected target was hit using an RBU-6000 rocket-propelled grenade launcher.

The pilots of the Northern Fleet's naval aviation practiced striking targets simulating command posts, engineering fortifications, manpower and equipment of a simulated enemy. The Lumbovsky training range on the Kola Peninsula became the venue for these exercises. In addition, the pilots of the Su-33 aircraft of the mixed aviation corps had the opportunity to practice fighter cover.

A naval search and strike group of the Pacific Fleet (Pacific Fleet) destroyed a simulated enemy submarine off the coast of Kamchatka, in the waters of the Avacha Bay. The Gremyashchy corvette, as well as small anti-submarine ships Ust-Ilimsk, MPK-82 and MPK-107 took part in the complex of events here. Anti-submarine helicopters and airplanes helped in the search for the target.

The small missile ship Typhoon used the Pantsir-M anti-aircraft missile artillery system. The shooting took place at the Uranus target missile, which simulates a strike on a ship. The Pantsir-M anti-aircraft missile system uses anti-aircraft guided missiles and automatic artillery installations, which makes it possible to defeat threats within a radius of 20 km and simultaneously hit up to four targets.

The Russian Navy's July Storm exercises are designed to practice the use of various types of weapons in disparate tactical groups, which contributes to the development of coherence. The exercises involve the Northern, Pacific and Baltic Fleets, as well as the Caspian Flotilla. Admiral Alexander Moiseev, Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy, personally leads the events.

Earlier, on July 23, the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry announced the start of the July Storm exercises. It was noted that more than 150 warships and support vessels, 120 aircraft, 10 coastal missile systems, 950 units of military and special equipment, and over 15,000 military personnel were involved in the training.

On the same day, the ships of the Pacific Fleet conducted exercises with elements of artillery firing in the Pacific Ocean. During the exercises with the forces of the Pacific Fleet, the naval aviation carried out more than 40 missions with the development of tasks.
