This year in Moscow, specialists of the urban economy complex will improve more than 700 streets, 69 of which are located in the Southern Administrative District. This was announced on Friday, July 25, by the Deputy Mayor of the capital for Housing and Communal Services and landscaping, Peter Biryukov.
According to him, work has already begun on 18 streets, including Bulatnikovsky Passage, Bolshoy Starodanilovsky Lane, as well as 2nd and 3rd Donskoy Passages. The goal of the program is to improve conditions for drivers and pedestrians, provide convenient access to residential buildings, transport and social facilities, Moscow 24 reports.
It is planned to replace over 970 thousand square meters of asphalt on the roadway and more than 390 thousand square meters on the sidewalks, expand pedestrian zones, organize parking pockets and new ground crossings with contrasting lighting, writes RT.
Street lighting will also be upgraded, energy-efficient lanterns and modern bus shelters with display boards, Wi-Fi and charging stations will be installed. As part of the landscaping, more than 1.1 million square meters will be equipped. M. Gazonov, reports the Moscow City News agency.
