Two Russian citizens living in the Nizhny Novgorod and Tver regions were found guilty of treason in the interests of Ukraine. This was announced on July 25 by the Office of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation for the Nizhny Novgorod region.

"A resident of the Nizhny Novgorod region, born in 1998, having formed a negative attitude towards his military through online correspondence in the Telegram messenger from a resident of Tver, born in 2001, persuaded the latter to join a Ukrainian terrorist organization banned in the Russian Federation in order to commit crimes in its interests and subsequently participate in hostilities against the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation," the press said.- the service of the department.

It is noted that a man from Tver was found guilty of committing crimes under Articles 275, part 1 of Article 30, part 2 of Article 205.5, Article 281.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("High treason", "Preparation for a crime and attempted crime", "Organization of the activities of a terrorist organization and participation in the activities of such an organization", "Training in order to carry out subversive activities"). He was sentenced to 17 years in prison, and the person involved in the case will serve them in a high-security penal colony.

The resident of the Nizhny Novgorod region who recruited him was sentenced to 14 years in a high-security penal colony. He was found guilty of crimes under Articles 275, Part 1.1 of Article 205.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("High treason", "Assistance to terrorist activities").

Currently, the verdict against the attackers has not entered into legal force, the FSB added.
