Dunyasha, a monkey that escaped from the zoo, was caught in Crimea for two days
A monkey that escaped from the Yevpatoria Zoo was caught two days later in the attic of one of the city buildings. This was announced on July 25 on the official website of the Crimean Republican emergency rescue service "Crimea-SAVED".
"It took two days to capture the monkey. Yesterday, rescuers, using alpine equipment, descended from the roof of the building into the attic and set up a trap for the animal: they put food and water in a plastic container," the publication reported.
Dunyasha was trapped this afternoon. The staff of Krym-SPAS, using special equipment, got into the attic and lowered the monkey down, after which they handed it over to the zookeeper. It is reported that Dunyasha was not injured and does not need veterinary care.
On June 9, a kangaroo escaped from the Malinki Southern Bird Park in the Rostov Region. Alexandra Lashko, the chief veterinarian of the park, urged not to try to make contact with the animal, because it is wild, despite its docile nature.
