The Vietnam Culture Festival, dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and Vietnam, has begun in Moscow. The events will be held on Manezhnaya Square until August 3, said Deputy Mayor of Moscow Natalia Sergunina.

"Until August 3, more than 100 events will be held here, at one of the venues of the large—scale Summer in Moscow project — these are performances by artists, theatrical performances, creative classes and a gastronomic program," Sergunina said.

Several themed areas have been set up on Manezhnaya Square. The audience can get acquainted with traditional Vietnamese musical instruments, watch puppet theater performances, and learn how to prepare national treats. Three exhibitions have also been opened at the festival site, where you can see a collection of national costumes, objects created at the junction of ancient traditions and modernity, and photo sales of Vietnam.

In the pavilions of the festival, you can purchase printed drawings made in the Dong Ho technique, objects of lacquer art and non-decorated cone hats. There will also be demonstrations of Vietnamese martial arts and dancing.

The opening ceremony was attended by the wife of the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam Ngo Phuong Lee, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the country to Russia Dang Minh Khoi, First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Andrey Yatskin and Deputy Mayor of Moscow Natalia Sergunina.

"The festival of Vietnamese Culture will introduce guests to the unique traditions of our country. This large—scale event is a clear confirmation of the close cultural interaction between Russia and Vietnam," said Ngo Phuong Lee, wife of the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Earlier in July, a festival of Indian culture was held on Manezhnaya Square, one of the traditional locations of the Moscow Seasons cycle. It was visited by 825 thousand people.
