The expert spoke about the positive impact of boxing on a career
Punching pears and bags, learning new techniques, sparring are quite therapeutic activities. Alexandra Gerasimova, CEO of the fitness and wellness IT company Fitmost, told Izvestia on July 28 about why careerists should pay attention to this sport and how boxing helps them succeed not only in the ring, but also at work.
"Working in an office often reduces physical activity to a minimum.: the sprint from the chair to the meeting room does not count. This lifestyle leads to chronic fatigue, frequent illnesses and lack of energy for productive work. To avoid negative consequences, you need to move. In this case, boxing will not only help you keep fit, but also boost your soft skills," she said.
There are a lot of office workers among amateur athletes, especially among managers. And this is not surprising: after a busy day, a surge of new energy during training tones the body. According to the expert, without this it is difficult to be a leader with great responsibility and huge functionality.
"Physical activity in the ring prevents the loss of nerve cells, depression and burnout. Boxing is a great way to switch from a mental load to a physical one. Regular workouts not only improve your overall physical condition, but also increase your endurance, strength, and coordination. And these are the key indicators that are necessary for careerists," the expert noted.
She added: this sport requires strict discipline, perseverance and the ability to act according to instructions. These qualities are necessary for "achievers" who want to learn how to manage their time competently and perform work tasks efficiently. In addition, boxing classes develop the ability to analyze the situation and quickly build strategies.
"Such training also teaches you to keep emotions under control, cope with stress and work under pressure. These are good skills that help you solve complex tasks, work in a team and maintain a positive attitude in the team. Another important factor that allows you to choose boxing as a physical release is the destruction of patterns. We are used to the work–home–work–home chain, but such a sequence will sooner or later lead to professional burnout," Gerasimova added.
In her opinion, an additional type of employment and integration into another community forms new neural connections in a person. Sport triggers the release of adrenaline and gives exciting experiences, which affects the improvement of cognitive functions. However, personal interest is also important for the result, as well as consistency in training.
DDX Fitness network coach Artyom Opalnitsky told Izvestia on July 3 the rules of safe training in hot weather. The expert recommended planning classes in the morning, before 10:00, or in the evening, after 18:00, when solar activity decreases. A prerequisite, according to him, is sufficient fluid intake.
