Family conflicts are an inevitable part of life, but it's important how parents resolve them. Natalia Fedkaeva, a psychologist at the Discovery network of bilingual kindergartens and schools, told Izvestia on July 26 about how to behave properly in front of children during arguments.

"Children are sensitive to the atmosphere of the house, even if they do not hear the words. If they see that their parents are not just fighting, but trying to find a solution, it teaches them how to respond to conflicts correctly," the expert explains.

According to her, a child should not become a participant in a quarrel or a judge.

"He loves both parents, and choosing one side will hurt him. Rude words and shouts can leave trauma for many years," warns Fedkaeva.

If the parents have reconciled without the child, it is important to tell him about it. Children do not always understand that the conflict has been resolved. They need to hear that everything is OK, even if there is no final decision yet. The expert also recommends agreeing on the "rules" in the family in advance and even coming up with a "code word" to stop in time.

"If a child asks about a quarrel, don't ignore him. Explain the reason briefly and without unnecessary details so that he does not think that he is to blame," the psychologist adds.

The main thing, according to the expert, is to show that conflicts do not destroy love.

"A child should know that conflict is a part of a relationship that can be resolved with dignity," concluded Fedkaeva.

Earlier, on March 25, it was reported that the majority of parents surveyed (65%) limit screen time to children. So, 67% explain this by the desire for minors to relax without gadgets: for example, they read paper books and played regular, non-online games. At the same time, 60% are worried about their eyesight, 55% are afraid that digital addiction will arise, and 30% are worried about safety.
