Rosneft talked about the development of the useful use of APG

Since 2013, Rosneft has invested more than 303 billion rubles in the development of projects dedicated to the use of associated petroleum gas, the company's press service reported.

As part of the implementation of the investment gas program, Rosneft is taking measures to make more rational use of APG in all regions of its presence, the company stressed. Thus, in 2024 alone, Rosneft commissioned 9 new facilities that contribute to achieving this goal: facilities for gas injection into the reservoir, energy generation, gas treatment and use, as well as gas transportation infrastructure. These measures are designed to promote the widespread introduction of innovative, energy-saving, "green" technologies into production processes.

According to Rosneft, the company's specialists are constantly developing innovations to optimize and scale the process. For example, in July 2025, Orenburgneft employees patented a technology to reduce the content of hydrogen sulfide and mercaptans in associated petroleum gas. The innovation was introduced at the Vakhitovskaya group of deposits of the enterprise, which allowed to increase the volume of rational use of APG from 20 to 80 thousand m3 per day. The economic effect of the innovation will amount to more than 1 billion rubles over five years.

Rosneft also recalled the energy saving program, which is being developed for a five-year period and updated annually. As a result of its successful implementation in 2024, Rosneft ensured a reduction in absolute greenhouse gas emissions in the amount of 1.1 million tons of CO2-eq.
