Fraudsters who took over 500 million rubles worth of real estate were arrested for up to 18 years.

The fraudsters, who took over the real estate of the Rosgvardiya, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the administration of Moscow region districts and individuals for 500 million rubles, were sentenced to terms from 7.5 to 18 years in prison. This was reported on July 25 in the press service of the FSB of Russia in Moscow and the Moscow region.

Two organizers and 18 members of the criminal community were convicted. The organizers were sentenced to 17 and 18 years in prison. The remaining 18 participants, depending on the role and degree of participation of each, were sentenced to imprisonment for a term of 7.5 to 16 years to serve their sentences in correctional colonies of general and strict regime.

"For four years, community members have been fraudulently obtaining the right to dispose of land, apartments, and premises belonging to the Rosgvardiya, the Ministry of Defense, the administrations of the Moscow Region districts, and individuals," the FSB told TASS.

It is noted that the attackers illegally disposed of 14 real estate objects worth over 500 million rubles in the period from 2013 to 2017.

Earlier, on June 19, the official representative of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Svetlana Petrenko, announced the detention in Moscow of members of a group that took over more than 60 apartments. The damage amounted to over 250 million rubles. It was clarified that the three organizers had developed and implemented a criminal scheme in the period from 2010 to 2024.
