Russian drivers and rally organizers continue to communicate with their foreign counterparts, despite the political situation in the world. This was stated by Vladimir Chagin, head of the Silk Road international rally raid, in an interview with Izvestia on July 25.

"There was and still is a connection with those who participated in [our] competitions until 2022. They wrote and congratulated us at the launch in Irkutsk. <...> We also continue to communicate with the organizers of many international rally raids. We wish them good luck in holding their competitions, and they wish us well," said Chagin.

The seven-time Dakar Rally champion also expressed hope that Russian racers would return to international competitions as full-fledged partners.

"We are still divided by this political fence, but we want those days to return faster when you go up to the globe, draw a route with a marker, coordinate it with partners and the leadership of our country and start working. Now we are a little constrained within this framework, but we are confident that the old days will return," Chagin concluded.

Earlier in the day, Chagin announced that Silk Road plans to expand the geography of the route in the future. According to him, so far the road of the participants runs only through two countries, but an increase in the route is present in the plans.
